Traptox Trapezius Botox® Injections near Durham
Traptox, our revolutionary treatment, harnesses the power of Botox, scientifically known as botulinum toxin, to provide a unique solution to muscle-related concerns. Botox is renowned for its ability to induce muscle relaxation, primarily acting at neuromuscular junctions to inhibit contractions. At Dr. Matla Clinic, we have extended the transformative benefits of Botox to the trapezius muscles.
Anticipating the results of Traptox involves patience, as the effects become noticeable within a few days to a week post-treatment. Witness a slimming effect that imparts an elongated and well-defined appearance to your neck and jawline.
Jawline Slimming with Masseter Botox near Durham
Jawline slimming with masseter Botox works by temporarily blocking nerve signals to prevent them from overworking. Over time, this relaxation leads to slight atrophy, or shrinking, of the muscle, resulting in a more refined and slimmer facial appearance. As the muscle relaxes and reduces in size, the slimming effect becomes more apparent.
Masseter Botox at the Dr Matla Clinic can also assist with conditions including jaw pain or tension headaches, which are often triggered by an overactive masseter muscle.
Further Conditions Botox Can Help Treat
BOTOX® can also be used for more serious conditions including Cervical Dystonia, a painful condition where neck muscles contract uncontrollably. It can help balance the look of a lazy eye, calm tense muscles prone to contractures, halt irritating eye twitches, treat excessive sweating and help relieve chronic migraines. The uses for BOTOX® are for so much more than just smoothing wrinkles, we can discuss any of these options with you at consultation.
Scrotox Treatment Durham
Looking for Scrotox injections near Durham? Scrotox is a discreet, non-surgical treatment that uses botulinum toxin injections to relax the scrotal skin for scrotal rejuvenation and comfort. It helps reduce wrinkles, relieve tightness, lower the position of the scrotum, and reduce excessive sweating.
This treatment is ideal for men who want aesthetic improvements and enhanced comfort without surgery.
Botox for Headaches and Migraines near Durham
Dr Matla offers Botox for Migraines and Headaches at his clinic in Newcastle. This specialised treatment can help relieve the debilitating pain of migraines and headaches.
Evidence indicates that Botox disrupts the pathway of pain transmission between the brain (central nervous system) and the nerves extending from the spinal cord. During a migraine episode, the body releases neurotransmitters and pain-associated molecules. Botulinum toxin hampers the transmission of these substances, typically at the junction between nerves and muscles. It is believed that when injected into the muscles surrounding the face, head, and neck, the drug is absorbed by the nerves, interfering with pain-associated neurotransmission.
Conditions Treated With Botox
PERIORAL LINES
Perioral lines are the lines that run around the lips from the mouth to the chin. These are caused by a loss of collagen and elastin in the skin as we age. Treatment subtly reduces the appearance of ageing and enhances the overall contour of your lips.
SCROTOX
Helps reduce wrinkles, relieve tightness, lower the position of the scrotum, and reduce excessive sweating, enhancing comfort without surgery.
MIGRAINES AND TENSION HEADACHES
Botox can also help reduce the frequency and intensity of chronic migraines and tension headaches.
BRUXISM AND JAW TENSION
Masseter Botox relaxes the jaw muscle to ease teeth grinding, jaw tension and related headaches, and can soften a square or overworked jawline over time.
CROWS FEET
Crow's feet are the wrinkles that appear around your eyes as you age. This condition can be treated with Botox to relax these muscles, giving your eyes a smoother, more youthful appearance or dermal fillers.
Hyperhidrosis - Excessive Sweating
Botox can help with excessive sweating by temporarily blocking the nerves that stimulate sweat glands.
TRAPTOX TRAPEZIUS
Provides a unique solution to muscle-related concerns in the trapezius muscles. Botox is renowned for its ability to induce muscle relaxation, primarily acting at neuromuscular junctions to inhibit contractions.
GLABELLAR LINES
Glabellar lines, which are often called frown lines (those deep vertical lines between your eyebrows), are one of the most common conditions treated with Botox. To help relax the area and create a fresher, more relaxed look.

WHAT IS BOTOX?
BOTOX is the #1 selling treatment of its kind*:
– Botox is FDA-approved to improve the appearance of frowns and forehead lines. It will also improve crow’s feet and other facial wrinkles.
– It’s a quick 10-minute treatment with minimal downtime
– You may begin to notice the results within 24 to 48 hours

Botulinum toxin (Botox) comes from a toxin produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. It consists of 7 types of neurotoxins. Only toxins A and B are used by clinicians in botox treatment. This toxin can cause botulism in high doses (an illness that affects the nerves). Botox has been used since the 1970s.
WHAT AREAS CAN BOTOX TREAT?
A study in 1994 reported the benefit of botulinum (Botox) in reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles; since then, it has been used as a cosmetic treatment.
It is now the number one anti-ageing treatment in the world.
Other uses for BOTOX® are to treat certain eye disorders such as crossed eyes (strabismus) and uncontrolled blinking (blepharospasm). To treat muscle stiffness/spasms or movement disorders (such as cervical dystonia, and torticollis), and also to reduce the cosmetic appearance of wrinkles.
The most common areas for the use of Botox are the frown lines between the eyes, the furrows of the forehead, the crow’s feet at the sides of the eyes, and creases in the neck.

HOW DOES BOTOX WORK?
BOTOX targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines — the repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, smiling and raising the eyebrows over the years. Dr Matla will inject these muscles with BOTOX to temporarily reduce muscle activity.

WHEN WILL I SEE THE RESULTS FROM THE BOTOX® INJECTIONS?
You could expect to observe benefits within 24 to 28 hours after your first treatment if correctly injected by a medical professional. It can take two to four days for the muscle to weaken and movement to be halted. The optimum effects of your treatment can be seen anywhere between ten and fourteen days after treatment.

COULD MY FACE LOOK UNNATURAL OR OVERDONE?
You can trust it to deliver subtle results when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained and a medical expert in facial anatomy. As BOTOX® is a technique-sensitive treatment, you’ll look like yourself, only fresher. No one should be able to tell you’ve had anything done unless you tell them.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM BOTOX? DOES IT HURT?
Some patients report that being injected with BOTOX feels like a pinch. Dr Matla may use ice to numb the treatment area. If you are concerned about discomfort, we can instead apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.

The injection process takes a quick 10 minutes. Dr Matla will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate botox treatment areas for you.
HOW OFTEN CAN I HAVE BOTOX®?
We recommend scheduled treatments at about 12 to 16 weeks, BOTOX® does not accumulate in your system so is safe to have regularly. Once the effects have worn off it is safe for you to top up in the same area. It is also perfectly safe to have multiple treatments in different areas at the same time.
HOW LONG IS RECOVERY TIME AFTER BOTOX® TREATMENT?
BOTOX® has a minimal recovery time. After leaving our clinic, you can immediately resume your normal daily routine. However, we advise treating the area(s) with a little caution for the first 24 hours to accelerate the healing process. Avoid doing any strenuous exercise, touching or applying pressure to the injection sites or areas around them, avoid massaging your face, and subjecting your skin to hot showers or baths.
HOW MANY BOTOX® INJECTIONS WILL I RECEIVE?

DO MEN HAVE BOTOX®?
Absolutely. Over the last two decades, there has been a notable surge of 325% in the number of men seeking cosmetic treatments. Among these treatments, the uptake of BOTOX® among men has been particularly rapid. In the last three years alone, men have accounted for over one million botulinum toxin treatments.
When surveyed, a significant majority of men express a desire to maintain a youthful appearance, acknowledging their concerns about the changes reflected in the mirror. An impressive 80% prioritise addressing crow’s feet, while 74% aim to tackle forehead lines, and 60% are keen to address frown lines as their primary focus. These statistics underscore the increasing popularity of BOTOX® among men, reaffirming its efficacy in helping men achieve their aesthetic goals.
IS THERE A GENERIC ALTERNATIVE TO BOTOX®?
No, there isn’t. It’s crucial to recognise that if a vial doesn’t bear the BOTOX® label, it isn’t authentic BOTOX®. Each medical product possesses its unique formulation, potency, and approved dosages, meaning that no single product can substitute for another. Consequently, the concept of a “generic” version of BOTOX® doesn’t exist. BOTOX® stands alone as a distinctive formulation, extensively researched and widely acknowledged as the most studied treatment of its kind. With over 15 years of clinical scrutiny, its safety and efficacy have been detailed in 495 peer-reviewed articles across scientific and medical journals.
ARE THERE ANY ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS TO BOTOX®?
Dr Matla offers a number of professional skin treatments designed to improve fine lines and wrinkles such as PDO Threadlifts, Chemical peels, Microneedling PRP Facials, Dermal fillers, 3D Hydrio2 Facials, HIFU Facelift Treatment, Profhilo and cosmeceutical grade skincare products. Please arrange a consultation to discuss the best options for you.
CAN I TRAVEL BY AIRPLANE AFTER BOTOX® TREATMENT?
Certainly! There’s no need to worry about flying after receiving BOTOX® anti-wrinkle injections. Botox injections are not influenced by changes in altitude or cabin pressure, so you can board your flight without any concerns about negative effects on your treatment. Feel free to plan your travels as usual, knowing that your BOTOX® results will remain unaffected by your journey.
CAN I APPLY MAKEUP AFTER A BOTOX® TREATMENT?
Absolutely! Following your BOTOX® procedure, it’s perfectly fine to wear makeup. However, it’s advisable to steer clear of heavy makeup for a few hours post-treatment to prevent applying excessive pressure on the treated area, which could potentially displace the product. Opting for mineral makeup immediately after the procedure is a great choice as it tends to be gentler on the skin and less likely to interfere with the treated areas.
