Safe and effective Botox , Doctor administered in a clean modern clinic
Are you looking for anti-wrinkle BOTOX® injections near Gateshead? Because BOTOX® is so effective, it has evolved to become a well-known brand name. When you squint, frown, or concentrate, your facial muscles will tighten. After years of constant contraction, combined with other environmental and lifestyle variables, lines and wrinkles will begin to develop and eventually turn permanent. By reducing muscular spasms, the BOTOX® procedure helps the patient look younger. BOTOX® injections can treat facial lines and wrinkles, such as “crow’s feet” at the corners of the eyes, forehead lines, frown lines, perioral lines and glabellar lines. It will also treat excessive sweating, jawline slimming, migraines, tension headaches and many other conditions.

CONDITIONS TREATED WITH BOTOX
Glabellar lines which are often called frown lines are one of the most common conditions treated with Botox
Perioral lines are the lines that run around the lips from the mouth to the chin, these are caused by a loss of collagen and elastin in the skin as we age.
Further Conditions Botox Can Help Treat
BOTOX® can also be used for more serious conditions including Cervical Dystonia, a painful condition where neck muscles contract uncontrollably. It can help balance the look of a lazy eye, calm tense muscles prone to contractures, halt irritating eye twitches, treat excessive sweating and help relieve chronic migraines. The uses for BOTOX® are for so much more than just smoothing wrinkles, we can discuss any of these options with you at consultation.

WHAT IS BOTOX?
BOTOX is the #1 selling treatment of its kind*:
– Botox is FDA-approved to improve the appearance of frowns and forehead lines. It will also improve crow’s feet and other facial wrinkles.
– It’s a quick 10-minute treatment with minimal downtime
– You may begin to notice the results within 24 to 48 hours
– It delivers predictable, subtle results, so you look like you, only with less noticeable facial lines.
Botulinum toxin (Botox) comes from a toxin produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. It consists of 7 types of neurotoxins. Only toxins A and B are used by clinicians in botox treatment. This toxin can cause botulism in high doses (an illness that affects the nerves). Botox has been used since the 1970s.
WHAT AREAS CAN BOTOX TREAT?
A study in 1994 reported the benefit of botulinum (Botox) for reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles; since then, it has been used as a cosmetic treatment.
Other uses for BOTOX® are to treat certain eye disorders such as crossed eyes (strabismus) and uncontrolled blinking (blepharospasm). To treat muscle stiffness/spasms or movement disorders (such as cervical dystonia, and torticollis), and to reduce the cosmetic appearance of wrinkles.
The most common areas for the use of Botox are the frown lines between the eyes, the furrows of the forehead, the crow’s feet at the sides of the eyes, and creases in the neck.
HOW DOES BOTOX WORK?
BOTOX targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines — the repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, smiling and raising the eyebrows over the years. Dr Matla will inject these muscles with BOTOX to temporarily reduce muscle activity.
WHEN WILL I SEE THE RESULTS FROM THE BOTOX® INJECTIONS?
You could expect to observe benefits within 24 to 28 hours after your first treatment if correctly injected by a medical professional. It can take two to four days for the muscle to weaken and movement to be halted. The optimum effects of your treatment can be seen anywhere between ten and fourteen days after treatment.
COULD MY FACE LOOK UNNATURAL OR OVERDONE?
You can trust it to deliver subtle results when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained and a medical expert in facial anatomy. As BOTOX® is a technique-sensitive treatment, you’ll look like yourself, only fresher. No one should be able to tell you’ve had anything done unless you tell them.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM BOTOX? DOES IT HURT?
Some patients report that being injected with BOTOX feels like a pinch. Dr Matla may use ice to numb the treatment area. If you are concerned about discomfort, we can instead apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.
HOW MUCH TIME DOES TREATMENT TAKE?
The injection process takes a quick 10 minutes. Dr Matla will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate botox treatment areas for you.
HOW OFTEN CAN I HAVE BOTOX®?
We recommend scheduled treatments at about 12 to 16 weeks, BOTOX® does not accumulate in your system so is safe to have regularly. Once the effects have worn off it is safe for you to top up in the same area. It is also perfectly safe to have multiple treatments in different areas at the same time.
HOW LONG IS RECOVERY TIME AFTER BOTOX® TREATMENT?
BOTOX® has a minimal recovery time. After leaving our clinic, you can immediately resume your normal daily routine. However, we advise treating the area(s) with a little caution for the first 24 hours to accelerate the healing process. Avoid doing any strenuous exercise, touching or applying pressure to the injection sites or areas around them, avoid massaging your face, and subjecting your skin to hot showers or baths.
HOW MANY BOTOX® INJECTIONS WILL I RECEIVE?
BOTOX® is customized to your goals and needs. When you meet with Dr Matla, he will determine the appropriate treatment for any areas you wish to address, including frown, crow’s feet, and forehead.
For the crow’s feet area, Dr Matla will inject 3 areas of the muscle that frames the side of the eye. This will be repeated on the muscle that frames the other eye.
Dr Matla will administer 5 injections into the muscles between your brows and in your forehead for the frown lines.
And 4 to 6 injections will be administered into a muscle in your forehead for the forehead area.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
3% of patients experienced eyelid drooping in the frown lines studies, 1% of patients experienced eyelid swelling in the crow’s feet studies, and 1% of patients experienced brow drooping in the forehead studies.
Other possible side effects include dry mouth; discomfort or pain at the injection site; tiredness; headache; neck pain; eye problems: double vision, blurred vision, decreased eyesight, and dry eyes; and allergic reactions.
These are not all of the possible serious side effects of BOTOX® If you wish to discuss this in more detail please contact us here for a BOTOX® consultation
DO MEN HAVE BOTOX®?
Yes. The number of men receiving cosmetic treatments overall has risen by 325% over the last 20 years. And the number of men specifically choosing treatments like BOTOX® has also risen fast– in the past three years alone, men have received over one million botulinum toxin treatments.
When surveyed, the majority of men say they want to look good and they’re bothered by the changes they see in the mirror. 80% would choose to treat their crow’s feet first, while 74% would prioritize their forehead lines, and 60% would most like to treat their frown lines.
IS THERE A GENERIC BOTOX®?
No. If it doesn’t say BOTOX® on the vial, then it isn’t. It’s important to understand that medical formulations, potency, and approved doses vary among products, so no one product can take the place of another. This is why there is no such thing as a “generic” form of BOTOX®. It is a one-of-a-kind formulation and is the most widely researched and studied treatment of its kind. Backed by more than 15 years of clinical studies, safety and efficacy have been described in 495 peer-reviewed articles in scientific and medical journals.
ARE THERE ANY ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS TO BOTOX®?
Dr Matla offers a number of professional skin treatments designed to improve fine lines and wrinkles such as PDO Threadlifts, Chemical peels, Microneedling PRP Facials, Dermal fillers, 3D Hydrio2 Facials, HIFU Facelift Treatment, Profhilo and cosmeceutical grade skincare products. Please arrange a consultation to discuss the best options for you.
CAN I FLY AFTER BOTOX®?
Yes, you will not experience any negative effects from flying with anti-wrinkle injections. They are not affected by changes in altitude or cabin pressure.
CAN I WEAR MAKEUP AFTER BOTOX®?
Yes. Ideally, avoid applying any heavy makeup for a few hours so you don’t apply pressure to the area and disperse the product from the treated area. Mineral makeup can be applied immediately after treatment.
