What is PRP Shot treatment?
Whilst it can be awkward to talk about problems with sex drive, impotence, and erectile dysfunction they are issues that affect many more of us than you would think. PRP Shot is a revolutionary treatment that makes alleviating these issues a simple and relatively pain free procedure.
PRP Shot is a non-surgical procedure that can help with a variety of male sexual issues, solving erectile dysfunction, impotence, Peyronie’s disease and can even lead to increased sexual pleasure. The PRP Shot can also increase the girth and length of the penis, as well as enhance stamina and improve appearance. Nearly any man who feels that they are not able to perform to the peak of their sexual performance can benefit from the PRP Shot.
The name Priapus Shot was coined by Dr.Runels who invented the treatment and first used it on his own penis. Priapus was the Greek god of male regenerative power, a name that Runels felt perfectly represented what the PRP Shot aims to achieve in patients. PRP for erectile dysfunction is quickly becoming a popular procedure all across the world, due to its ease, speed, and excellent results.

Frequently asked questions about PRP Shot Treatment
How does PRP Shot work?
The PRP Shot involves injecting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) prepared from your own blood into your penis. This PRP when injected into your penile tissues, releases growth factors and stimulates tissue growth, and gives you better erections.
The PRP Shot uses Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) which is in the category of autologous regenerative treatments. This means that it comes from the patient’s own blood and so is a safe way to encourage the growth of new tissue and increase blood flow and nerve sensations throughout the penis.
The doctor takes blood and places it in a centrifuge to separate Platelet-rich plasma. This PRP is then injected into the penis. The whole procedure takes 45-60mins. To make this procedure more comfortable, doctors use numbing cream or injections.
How is the treatment carried out?
- Initially, we apply a nerve block or numbing cream to the penis.
- We then take a blood sample from your arm.
- PRP rich in growth factors extracted from the blood sample.
- The PRP is then injected into the corpus cavernosum, the area of the penis responsible for erections.
- The whole procedure on average will take 30- 45 minutes from start to finish.
How long does PRP shot last?
Whilst there is no specific protocol for how long the effects of PRP shot may last patients typically receive good results from the procedure for eight to twelve months. How often you need to receive the PRP Shot will depend on the reason for the procedure and your own personal circumstance. Whilst there is no set time frame PRP Shot can be expected to last the effects are generally noticed for up to a year.
Does the PRP shot Increase Size?
The PRP Shot can increase both the length and girth of the penis. It is also effective at treating Peyronie’s disease, a condition that can cause painful erections and/or a bent penis. The PRP in the Shot when activated increases collagen, blood flow and breaks down the hardened plaque that causes curvature in the penis.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN YOU GET THE PRP SHOT?
The PRP Shot is a standalone treatment and you will see results from just one session. However, as the PRP Shot uses your body’s own PRP there is no limit to the number of PRP Shots you can receive, and multiple shots can be beneficial. Returning for a second treatment after a year is common, but more or less frequent treatments may be appropriate. You will be able to discuss the best plan for you with Dr.Matla.
IS THE PRP SHOT PAINFUL?
There is a little discomfort with PRP Shot, as with any injection, but a local anesthetic or complete nerve block is used to numb the affected area and reduce any pain as much as is possible. The patient can expect to use their penis as normal on the day of treatment once the numbing agent has subsided as no damage is caused that needs time to heal. The whole process is extremely straightforward and pain-free, especially when compared to other similar treatments.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THE PRP SHOT?
There are few to no side effects with the PRP Shot. There may be a slight bruising or sensitivity that does not last long. Compared to other treatments for erectile dysfunction and associated problems the side effects are extremely minimal. After the treatment, you can go back to normal daily activities. You are even free to have sexual intercourse on the same day after the treatment and should find immediate improved results. In some cases, the results are immediate but may take up to 3-4 weeks.
HOW MUCH DOES PRP SHOT COST?
The PRP SHOT costs £1200 per session, 3x sessions £2500.
How long does the procedure take?
30 to 45 minutes
