FAQS ABOUT TEAR TROUGH FILLERS

WHAT ARE TEAR TROUGH FILLERS?

Tear Trough filler is a non-surgical, aesthetic treatment that uses dermal fillers to plump and rejuvenates the under-eye area. It is a highly technical procedure that needs to be performed by a skilled professional to help instantly restore the loss of volume in the undereye area which reduces the appearance of bags and dark circles.

This treatment can also help reduce fine lines and signs of ageing by boosting collagen production and elastane, giving you more youthful, fresh-looking skin.
Since dermal fillers are eventually broken down by your body, they are a great treatment option if you do not want a life-long commitment as well as avoid invasive and expensive plastic surgery.

HOW DOES THE TEAR TROUGH FILLER PROCEDURE WORK?

Before anything, you will have a 1 to 1 consultation with Dr Matla to discuss the treatment and your suitability for it as well as answer any questions you might have.

After the consultation, Dr Matla will inject the filler into the tear trough area itself or slightly lower on the cheekbone with a very fine needle or a cannula to ensure a smooth treatment and the results are often visible instantly.

The filler that will be used is made from Hyaluronic Acid – a substance naturally found in your body- which absorbs water and helps to give the undereye a plump, healthy look. The procedure will only take 15-30 minutes and there’s no recovery time necessary. Although some common side effects include swelling, redness, and bruising, these tend to ease off after a couple of days. However, we would suggest giving yourself a week or so to heal fully before going to an event.

WHAT WILL IT FEEL LIKE?

Many people don’t like the idea of Tear Trough fillers as they are close to the eye area and it sounds like it would be painful but it is actually pretty pain-free! You will feel a minor pinch similar to plucking an eyebrow hair and maybe some pressure as your doctor places the filler but that’s all and it’ll be over in the same amount of time as having your eyebrows shaped!

THE IMPORTANCE OF CHOOSING AN EXPERT

As aesthetic treatments are becoming increasingly popular, the importance of choosing your practitioner is essential to receive safe procedures that you love the results of.
Choosing a fully trained medical professional ensures that they have a detailed understanding of not only the procedures but also of human anatomy. This is important to consider as an experienced doctor can vary the look based on your needs and facial features, creating a bespoke outcome that you are happy with.
As Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in the body, it is considered safe for all types of injectables. However, there is always the chance that the Hyaluronic acid will react to an allergy you have so ensuring a trained experienced medical professional is administering the treatment means you’re in the safest hands possible in case of any adverse reactions.
Any allergies or concerns will be discussed at the consultation with Dr Matla. It’s important to choose a medical professional with experience and you can view video testimonials from patients and see before and after photos of Dr Matla’s work on the website.

ARE BOTOX AND DERMAL FILLERS THE SAME?

This is a common misconception that people have when they think about aesthetic treatments = botox. The main difference between these two treatments is that botox is designed to freeze the muscles and reduce the appearance of wrinkles caused by facial movements. Whereas dermal fillers are used to plump the areas that have lost volume and restore elasticity in the skin. Botox tends to last 3-4 months whereas dermal filler can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. However, these time periods may vary based on multiple factors including how fast your body metabolises the product.

HOW MUCH DO TEAR TROUGH FILLERS COST?

The cost of dermal fillers varies depending on how much you need, how many sessions are recommended for you, and the substances your doctor uses. It will also vary depending on the quality and experience of the doctor you choose to go with. Here at Dr Matla Aesthetics, we provide high-quality service on all our treatments as well as aiming to keep the prices down. The current cost is £350 however this could vary depending on your needs which can all be discussed with Dr Malta at your 1 to 1 consultation.
